Tomorrow's Recycling Today We are the first in Scandinavia to develop a technology that enables recycling of hazardous batteries and accumulators in an environmentally sustainable manner. Our technology raises the degree of material recovery from batteries and accumulators to a level that restores the original meaning of the term recycle. Our solution is BAT. Our recycling plant is located in Nivala, Finland, and it is ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 certified. Our plant is an answer to the battery and accumulator directive that became effective in Finland on 26 September 2008. The directive will obligate manufacturers to recycle all their batteries and accumulators, regardless of their shape, size, composition, or intended use.
